The Egbelu Nguru Youth Association (ENYA) serves as the central youth governing body and socio-economic mobilization platform for young people across all five kindreds of Egbelu Nguru in Ngor-Okpala LGA, Imo State. Aligned with the Egbelu Nguru Development Union (ENDU), ENYA acts as the energetic driving force behind community security, civic order, and local development. Positioned as the frontline custodians of Egbelu Nguru’s culture and tradition, the youth body plays a vital role in safeguarding ancestral heritage while translating it into modern civic action.

Mr. Ekene Collins Nzeh serves as the Youth President of ENYA. A proactive community organizer, he leads the youth in preserving cultural values and channeling communal energy toward structural progress. Under his leadership, ENYA actively partners with town elders, the Ndom Aladimma, and project leaders to maintain security, foster unity, and drive sustainable development across the community.

Role in SaveTheDPS & Community Ideology

• Championing 1950s Community Ownership: ENYA and Mr. Nzeh serve as the primary promoters of the foundational philosophy behind SaveTheDPS, reviving the spirit of self-reliance, collective responsibility, and community ownership that originally built Development Primary School in the 1950s.

• Ground-Level Mobilization: The association actively advocates for the SaveTheDPS vision across the five kindreds, rallying youth, families, and local stakeholders to take direct personal pride and ownership in restoring the school.

• Protection of Heritage & Assets: As custodians of local culture and physical community assets, ENYA ensures a safe, supportive environment for ongoing infrastructure works, volunteer operations, and educational programs at the school.

• Civic & Cultural Continuity: By linking historical communal values with present-day development, ENYA inspires the younger generation to see public infrastructure like Development Primary School as a sacred trust to be built, protected, and passed down.
